National Drink Wine Day & a WhoDunnit Dinner – This Saturday Night

This Saturday (February 18th) is National Drink Wine Day and we’re hosting Dinner Theatre with The Detectives. This interactive night of food and mystery makes date night a little more mysterious and romantic.

Why the Parker House for Drink Wine Day?

parker house wine

We know our vino.

In a metaphorical sense, wine is in our veins. We are pros of the wine industry, having spent years in both sales and marketing of vino. And our sommolier is here to help you understand the different wines and pairings so that the glass is as memorable as the food.

Please join us as we celebrate a national day of grape this Saturday.

What can I expect at a dinner theatre show?

who dunnitDinner theatre starts with great food. Chef Andy is bringing you a fine 3-course meal complete with salad, an entree and dessert.

The dinner theatre show is all about interaction and mystery. The Detectives, a local performance group, will lead you and other Parker House guests through an interactive, four-scene show that lasts about two hours. The show has a rating of PG to PG-13 and is as funny as it is mysterious. Guests join the fun when a member of the cast dies. It’s up to you and the rest of the audience to figure out “whodunnit?”

You’ll be assigned to a team, which is typically your table. The team is responsible for determining the killer and the motive. In addition, you’ll be asked a variety of questions. Right answers result in prizes!

According to The Detectives, “it’s sort of like CLUE, but funnier.”

Seating is limited!

So, we hope you’ll join us this Saturday night for dinner, mystery and wine! Click here to make a reservation or call us at 601-856-0043. Seating is limited. Dinner and the show begin at 7 p.m.

Why the Parker House for Valentine’s Day?

cupid parkerhouseThis year is better than any other year to celebrate Valentine’s Day at the Parker House in Ridgeland. After being voted Most Romantic Restaurant in Jackson in the Jackson Metro Mix, we know a thing or two about making it a night to remember. Today’s post is a guide to how we can help you create that memory with the one you love.

So, why the Parker House for Valentine’s Day?

Romantic dining is what we’re about on this special day. We pay special attention to creating a romantic atmosphere because we know it’s hard to get that when restaurants are packed.

You’ll never get that packed feeling in our English-style cottage nestled in the Jackson Street Historic District in Ridgeland. We have a sense of home, even on Valentine’s Day. Come dressed in your comfy clothes or dress all the way up. It’s your night and we’re here to help you have a comfortable, memorable experience.

We were voted most romantic for a reason. Our curtained booths provide a just-about-the-two-of-you experience.

To really make it about just the two of you, we even have curtained booth. These booth reservations go fast, so be sure to call early.

Will you have a special menu? What if I’ve never eaten at Parker House?

We will be serving a special Valentine’s menu, but we want this night to be all about the two of you. We’re serving everything on the menu. If you’ve never dined with us, Chef Andy creates delicious favorites such as red fish and a mean filet.
However, if you’re looking to spice things up or try something new, we recommend two dishes – the shrimp and grits or the sweet potato ravioli. These new twists on Southern foods will give you something to talk about for years.

Parker House shrimp & grits

Our shrimp and grits offer just the right amount of spice to make an impression on Valentine's Day or any day.

Do I have to call at a certain time for reservations? Can I make a reservation online?

Making a reservation with us is so simple. For your convenience, we have online reservations and we’ll send you an email confirmation. It takes about a minute. But if you prefer to talk to a person, we have that option as well. Simply call us at  601-856-0043.

Chris and Stacy B., regulars from Jackson, had this to say about our online reservation process: “The reservation process was so easy! It was point and click on the website. They emailed our confirmation. A breeze on the iPad. And we can’t wait for the bread pudding!”

Parker House sweet potato ravioli

Live dangerously this Valentine's Day. Try our sweet potato ravioli. Plus, it's on our 3-for-$35 menu!

Will I have to take out a second mortgage or sell a kid to eat here?

We’re not into putting our customers into debt. We offer some of the most innovative menu items and best food in town, but the average ticket price falls far below some of the other fine dining restaurants in town. Our motto is not to just help you celebrate the special occasions, but dine in style any night of the week. You can also choose a fabulous three-course dinner from our 3-for-$35 menu. No coupons required.

The Parker House Family

Our staff is our family. We work and laugh together, everybody bringing their own unique identity into the mix. This obviously gives us plenty to joke about. They work hard and help each other out. They have great attitudes. They strive to offer our guests a great experience. We appreciate all that they do. We couldn’t ask for better people. Thank you to our Parker House family!!

Music

Something about music, particularly live music can affect us in a way that nothing else can. Combine that with an outdoor setting, a relaxed environment, maybe a few friends and, oh yeah- good food and drink… well you get the idea.

Join us at the Parker House as we celebrate good food and good music on our patio this spring and summer. What better way to unwind…

IF YOU HAVEN’T BEEN TO PARKER HOUSE IN THE LAST SIX MONTHS…

I have heard it said that if you haven’t been to the Parker House in the last six months, then you may have the wrong perception. I have to agree. For those of you who don’t know us that well, my brother Andy and I took over from the Parkers about 4 years ago. And a lot has changed in that time frame! At first it was gradual, but now things are kicking in to high gear. The reasons are many, but in a nutshell, we made a conscious decision about a year ago to really adapt this restaurant into who we are. To more or less take off the blinders and put more of our personalities into the Parker House. Taking fresh, local ingredients and deliciously craft into works of art is Andy’s passion and talent. I have watched him grow and get better exponentially over the years. (I have had first-hand experience tasting all of his newest experiments from many, many cookouts at my house!)

I invite you to stay tuned for the exciting things happening here at Parker House. Better yet, come by and see for yourself…
