Do you want an upscale experience that’s also comfortable? Want food that’s hearty and creative – but also comforting and soulful? Do you crave fresh ingredients and personal attention? Maybe a great cocktail or fantastic glass of wine with that?
From an English-style cottage nestled in the Jackson Street Historic District, The Parker House offers a savory haven for home-style eaters with a menu of aged steaks and simple Southern comfort food.
Lavish starters tempt eager stomachs with rich mouthfuls of duck quesadilla, served with gouda, roasted corn salsa, and spiced sour cream ($9), or grit fries, crusted in herbs and bread crumbs topped with a smoky honey-chipotle aioli ($8).
The Catfish Katherine astounds palates with a fresh Mississippi catfish blanketed with a sizzling sauté of crab, mushrooms, and green onions alongside edible islands of mashed potatoes and turnip greens ($24). With only certified Hereford and USDA prime beef, steak lovers will delight in our beautifully marbled ribeye ($32) or an aged six-ounce tenderloin fillet ($25).
With our new menu, our flair for creative and fresh, 100% home made soul food emerges in every single item on the menu. Chef Andy carefully crafted each menu item with painstaking precision and taste testing for more than a year to bring a menu that you can’t help but talk about! Compliment any entree with gourmet versions of comforting sides like Hoppin’ John Risotto, Blackened Tomatoes, Sweet Potato Fries or Spicy Cheese Grits.
The extensive wine list is specially selected to complement the restaurant’s cuisine, with Sommolier Jayne always ready to put you at ease and make wine tasting and selection a delightful part of your dining experience. Jayne is the everyday gourmet’s dream when it comes to understanding wines and making wine pairing as comfortable as the food you enjoy at The Parker House.
At the Parker House, each of the four dining rooms scenically flavor meals with diverse décor, and our private booths feature closeable curtains – call ahead to reserve these very popular private dining alcoves.
Last but not least, our patio is the life of the party. Our outdoor patio offers a relaxing venue for diners to revel in food and drink alongside a soothing three-tiered fountain – and in season, live blues, soul and acoustic music three nights a week. Don’t forget to ask about Jayne’s latest cocktail creation or bar menu specials – all perfect on the patio.
